Child Centred Play Therapy (CCPT)
Child Centred Play Therapy is a form of child counselling and psychotherapy. It can provide a healthy way for your child to sort through and process their feelings in the playroom, be free to transform past experiences, and make sense of new experiences. It is within the relationship formed with the therapist that a child can express thoughts, feelings, experiences and behaviours through play - the child’s natural language.
Play therapy is an effective therapeutic approach in addressing needs including: Emotional regulation, separation anxiety, adjusting to family changes, social and relational skills, childhood trauma and attunement and attachment.
Protective
Behaviour Education
Using Play Therapy as the therapeutic approach, I work with children and young people to understand body safety, develop skills to recognise and respond to unsafe situations, how to seek assistance effectively, how to establish and maintain respectful and equal relationships, understand family structures, how to make informed sexual choices and the importance of consent.
